Fees and booking
“We may not be responsible for the world that created our minds, but we can take responsibility for the mind with which we create our world.”
What a session includes
- A 60- or 90-minute session, according to your booking. Note-taking and changeover time are not included in your session time.
- In person in West End or Milton, or online by video, whichever suits that week.
- Specific documentation or clinical letters, including those required for a claim, attract an additional fee.
- I work privately; Medicare rebates and Mental Health Care Plans aren’t available, and I don’t bulk-bill.
- You may choose to see a psychologist through a Mental Health Care Plan if you are eligible. However, Medicare-subsidised therapy is limited to a set number of sessions each year (usually 10 sessions), and once those sessions are used, ongoing therapy is generally at the practitioner’s full private fee.
- A private option that can make ongoing therapy more affordable
- My fee is $190 + GST ($209 total) for a 60-minute session.
- Psychologists' private fees can vary, but many charge approximately $240–$290+GST per session. This means that choosing private psychotherapy with me can be a more affordable option if you are looking for ongoing, regular therapy, particularly when you consider the cost of continuing therapy beyond the Medicare-subsidised sessions.
“Healing is about reclaiming our power and rewriting our future.”

You may be able to cover your sessions through WorkCover, your private health insurance or Victim Assist Queensland.

Cancellation policy
Things come up, and I'd always rather reschedule a session than have you push through one you can't attend. So, tell me as early as you can. If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, the fee is 50% of the session. With less than 24 hours' notice, or if you don't arrive, it's 80%. That hour is held for you and can't be filled at short notice, which is why the policy exists.
Most therapy practices have policies about missed appointments or last-minute cancellations. This isn't just about rules: therapists don't have a set salary. Unlike medical doctors, they are paid only for the sessions they hold, and they typically reserve that hour just for you.
If they charge for a missed session, it isn't a penalty; it's payment for the time set aside for you. Some therapists offer flexibility when you cancel with enough notice, but even then, they usually can't fill the spot at short notice.
How and when you pay
- Session fees are settled at least three hours before we meet, so our time stays on the work.
- If a balance is still outstanding on the day because of a late cancellation or a payment that didn't go through, we’ll process it using the card held securely on file, which you authorise when you complete your intake form.
- If you need to handle payment during the session, that time comes out of the hour, and a card surcharge is added.
- Cash isn't accepted.
- If you're or I am unwell, we move the session online rather than meeting in person.
Start with a conversation, not a commitment
If it feels like a fit, we keep going. If it doesn't, I'll point you somewhere that might.
Twenty minutes, online. My availability for these is currently very limited.
