Book a session

You may be able to cover your sessions through WorkCover, your private health insurance or Victim Assist Queensland.

What a session includes

  • A full 60 or 90 minutes, according to your booking. The time is yours: it doesn't include my note-taking or the changeover.
  • In person in West End or Milton, or online by video, whichever suits that week.
  • Sessions in English or Spanish, your choice, and you can move between them.
  • Documentation or clinical letters for a claim attract an additional fee, where WorkCover or an insurer requires them.

What happens first

Most people start with a free twenty-minute discovery call. There's nothing to prepare, and its only purpose is working out whether I'm the right person for what you're carrying.

If it's a fit, we book a first session. That one is mostly me listening and us getting a sense of pace. We don't dive into the deep end because the clock says we're on session one.

After that, how often we meet is a conversation, not a subscription. Weekly suits some people, fortnightly suits others.

Ways to fund your sessions

If your injury happened at work, WorkCover Queensland may fund your sessions. If you have private health extras, contact your insurer to check whether you can claim, and I'll send you an invoice with everything they need. There is no Medicare rebate for these sessions: I'm a PACFA Registered Clinical Counsellor and Somatic Psychotherapist rather than a registered psychologist, which is a different registration.

Cancellation policy

Things come up, and I'd always rather move a session than have you push through one you can't be present for. So tell me as early as you can. If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, the fee is 50% of the session. With less than 24 hours' notice, or if you don't arrive, it's 80%. That hour is held for you and can't be filled at short notice, which is the whole reason for the policy.

Most therapy practices have policies about missed appointments or last-minute cancellations. This isn't just about rules: therapists don't have a set salary. Unlike medical doctors, they are paid only for the sessions they actually hold, and they typically reserve that hour for you alone.

If they charge for a missed session it isn't a penalty; it's paying for the time that was set aside for you. Some therapists offer flexibility when you cancel with enough notice, but even then they usually can't fill the spot at short notice.

How and when you pay

  • Session fees are settled at least three hours before we meet, so our time stays on the work.
  • If a balance is still outstanding on the day — a late cancellation, or a payment that didn't go through — it's processed using the card held securely on file, which you authorise when you complete your intake form.
  • If payment has to be handled during the session, that time comes out of the hour and a card surcharge is added.
  • Cash isn't accepted.
  • If you're unwell, we move the session online rather than meeting in person.
  • If I'm unwell, we move it online too.

Start with a conversation, not a commitment

You book one session at a time, and you decide when the work is done. If it feels like a fit, we keep going. If it doesn't, I'll point you somewhere that might.

Twenty minutes, online. My availability for these is currently very limited.
