As an intuitive and open-minded Psychotherapist, I’m passionate about creating safe spaces and conversations where real and lasting healing can happen – where you can move at your own pace, in the direction of your best self, and your most connected and fulfilling relationships.
Trauma-informed Psychotherapy gives you an opportunity to explore whatever it is that you’re experiencing in a supported environment, to gain an understanding of the factors that may be influencing your situation, as well as tools to cope and ways to work towards healing.
My approach is to work with you to discover what your emotions or physical symptoms are trying to tell you, and how you can listen to them to get clarity on the answers you need and the direction you wish to lead for a new brighter and wiser beginning.

I am available for in person sessions in West End, Brisbane, as well as telephone or video conferencing sessions (around Australia and globally).
Counselling and Psychotherapy sessions are offered in English and Spanish. Relationship Therapy and Group Work Therapy are offered in Spanish.
What to expect from Counselling and Psychotherapy with Wise Beginning
Therapy that is flexible, engaging and guided by your individual needs
DURATION
It can take time to create change and to see lasting results. However, you should see some level of significant progress after the first three counselling sessions.
Importantly, this depends on your needs and situation, and can vary greatly from person to person.
Some people feel that they get the most value after just a few sessions. Others prefer or need therapy for an extended period of time, especially if they have unresolved trauma and difficult childhood experiences, or they experience depression, anxiety or chronic pain.
In this situation, the process may last up to 10 sessions, followed by a re-assessment where together we will reassess whether further therapy will be helpful.
FREQUENCY
Depending on how you feel, weekly sessions may be more effective at the start, lengthening out to fortnightly or monthly as you get further into the process.
We will work with you to develop a plan which suits your needs and finances. This is entirely up to you. If you’re not working, or you’re experiencing financial hardship, we can work out the best plan that suits you.
APPROACH
I use an Integrative model of interpersonal-relationship neurobiology and brain-mind contemporary neuroscience approach and am experienced in Gestalt Psychotherapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Long-term therapy benefits
I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, depending on your individual goals and needs.
While there is no right or wrong answer to how long you engage in therapy, there are some unique benefits to long-term therapy, including:
- The opportunity to establish a new level of trust and understanding with your therapist
- Allows time to unpack deeper challenges, such as childhood trauma or addiction, which take time to safely access and process
- Time to understand your past and where this may be affecting your present in order to heal these past experiences and find greater mental health and wellbeing.
About Alpha
As an immigrant woman, I understand the many challenges that life presents as an immigrant. These challenges can present in experiences such as “othering”, exclusion and isolation – and these can have a direct impact on mental health (especially confidence and sense of self-worth).
My ability to empathise with these challenges gives me a unique cultural perspective to connect with clients to address their sense of belonging and deal with different challenges.
Alongside my lived experience, I have extensive experience working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Australia – assisting adults, couples and families.
I aim to build a genuine and collaborative relationship with clear boundaries, accompanying you in a process of awareness-raising. I am open minded and feel comfortable with diversity. I will develop the best quality of connection with you, giving you authority in the therapeutic work as I believe and honour that you have wisdom and you are the expert in your life.

What is Counselling?
Counselling generally refers to short-term sessions. However, when it comes to chronic or severe mental health conditions like major depressive disorder, severe anxiety disorders, or more complex self-esteem issues rooted in deep psychological trauma, ADHD symptoms, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, self-harming, etc., counselling will not be sufficient. These conditions often require a more comprehensive treatment approach, such as an Informed-Trauma approach psychotherapy.
