Therapy as a Courageous Act of Self-Love
Healing is not about fixing what’s broken — it’s about gently reconnecting with the wholeness that’s always been within you. This work is a process, not a quick fix, and it unfolds with care, honesty, and compassion.
About This Therapy
Therapy isn’t a magic cure or a quick fix for the tough stuff life throws at us. The deep work often takes a fair while, sometimes a year or more, to really sink in and become part of your daily life. It takes some real heart and heaps of self-compassion, but the benefits you get from psychotherapy are usually profound and stay with you for the long run.
This process is an invitation to build a better relationship with yourself, one that is rooted in kindness, respect, and being your authentic self. Over time, this helps you feel more grounded and connected, leading to a life that feels much more aligned and fulfilling.
Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. We heal in relationship.
Understanding Trauma
Trauma is not one single experience. It exists on a wide spectrum. It can be anything that causes you to disconnect from your body, emotions, intuition, gut feelings, or your authentic Self. Trauma can also be anything that diminishes your sense of safety, hope, or trust in yourself — or interrupts your connection with others and the world around you.
Trauma isn’t about being broken. Beneath what feels broken, there is always wholeness.
Healing is not about fixing what’s wrong with you, but about gently rediscovering what has always been there, waiting to be met with care and compassion.
What we can work on together
If you’re looking to understand yourself more deeply and gently explore patterns that may be holding you back, I offer a relational, embodied, and compassionate approach to therapy to support your healing and reconnection with your authentic self.
Sessions are available to adults aged 18 and over and must be self-initiated. Young people aged 14–17 may attend with a parent or legal guardian present at the first session.
Therapy might not be suitable for individuals experiencing active psychosis, severe mood or personality disorders, current domestic violence situations, severe depression with suicidal planning, recent suicide attempts, or severe substance use disorders. Appointments cannot be booked on behalf of another person.
You do not need a Mental Health Care Plan to work with me.
WorkCover, Private Health Insurance, and NDIS Self-management accepted.
I don’t bill through Medicare, as this work does not sit within the medical model. Medicare does not subsidise psychotherapy or counselling outside that framework.
In practice, subsidised sessions often come with higher standard fees, and the out-of-pocket cost is frequently similar to private therapy. Medicare-subsidised therapy is also limited to 6–10 sessions, after which ongoing care can become significantly more expensive.
If you are seeking a formal diagnosis, medication, or support for complex mental health needs, I would recommend working with a psychologist or psychiatrist.
