My approach is different.
As a Psychotherapist, my role is to provide therapy to the Psyche (soul or spirit). This means that we do go beyond the surface level, to explore your feelings, emotions and behaviours.
Working at your pace, we will seek to understand where an emotion or behaviour is coming from. Whether the experience that led to it happened recently, or a long time ago, the ongoing emotion or behaviour is a sign that there is an unmet emotional or psychological need there.
By discovering the root, we can then compassionately acknowledge the stress or trauma that happened and learn how to meet those unmet needs – which starts the healing process.
When we combine your inner wisdom and expertise of your own life, with my therapeutic tools and knowledge, you are supported to:
- Build self trust
- Build confidence and self-worth
- Grow your understanding of self, including your emotions, behaviours and needs
- Process the past, and
- Begin healing from trauma, grief, anxiety or other challenges.

Often, when we’re healing from trauma, grief and abuse, traditional talk therapies only touch the surface of how the brain and body hold and process this psychological pain.
Trauma Therapy and Grief Counselling can support you to:

- Recognise and understand the signs and symptoms of trauma and / or grief and develop ways to support your mind and body to restore a sense of calm and safety

What to expect from Psychotherapy?
Alpha uses an integrative humanistic model to explore interpersonal relationships. This approach is non-judgemental and avoids making interpretations.
Coupled with brain-mind contemporary neuroscience, this integrative model promotes and supports you to identify and connect with your own needs and your internal dialogue, so that internalised messages, blocked memories and unresolved emotions from the past can be revealed.
Through understanding where your struggles are coming from, and accepting the cause of the suffering, this allows for meaningful inner personal wisdom and resources that help you to navigate them.
Ultimately, Psychotherapy aims to empower the individual by enabling awareness of their blocked emotions and patterns through increased self-awareness, resulting in more lasting change for oneself, life quality, experience and relationships.
